A superb opportunity has arisen for a defined benefit pensions administrator with knowledge of administering defined benefit schemes.

Atkin Pensions who are based in prestigious offices on Blythe Valley Business Park, Solihull are seeking a new colleague as part of their continued growth.

We are seeking an individual who wants to achieve their potential and who has at least 2 years experience in working on defined benefit schemes .

What would the job entail?

Atkin Pensions is a family run pension consultancy providing services exclusively to small defined benefit pension schemes. The role would be working in our administration team along with three other administrators and the administration team manager. The ideal candidate will already have a base understanding of benefit calculations for defined benefit schemes and training will be provided to improve knowledge. We expect the candidate to progress through the CPC pensions examinations.

The role specifically includes the following:

Day to day pension administration, including preparing and checking member calculations and communications in accordance with our procedures.

Working across a wide range of schemes with involvement in monthly tasks and projects that will include:

Pension Increases

Renewals

GMP reconciliations

Benefit and data audits

Key skills for the role are:

Excellent verbal and written communication skills Ability to plan and organise own workload Quick learner Keen and enthusiastic to take on a variety of roles Good attention to details Candidates should be educated up to GCSE standard A-C including Maths

Actuarial Technician

 We are seeking an individual who excels at mathematics and problem solving. Experience with defined benefit pension schemes is required. Progress with atuarial exams is not essential.

Mantle Technician

Atkin Pensions are currently looking to recruit a new member to join their team of committed
professionals who provide clients with the best possible service. Our technology system has been
upgraded over the last three years, we now deliver our actuarial and administration services to our
clients and their members via an integrated external system, Mantle.
The system provides the following for the defined benefit schemes we service:
 The administration database
 Automated benefit calculations, retirement, projections and transfer values
 Automated correspondence to members
 SLA tasks and monitoring for member cases
 Actuarial valuation and cashflow projections
 Asset Liability Modelling
A great opportunity is available for a technician to join our team, to learn and provide support to how
clients are set up in Mantle and to support the administration, actuarial and client teams to deliver
excellent service to our clients. You will have a varied role and work across a wide range of schemes.
Tasks will include:
 Supporting new Scheme implementations – loading member data and setting up automated
benefit calculations in Mantle.
 Supporting Schemes already in Mantle extending its capabilities – automating letters,
correcting automated benefit calculations.
 Processing Scheme payrolls, in the system and working with the finance team.
 Continuous improvement ensuring Schemes work as best as they can and embracing new
areas such as the member app and dashboard data / set up requirements.
We are based in offices in Blythe Valley Business Park, Solihull. Whilst there will be an initial requirement
to be in the office full time whilst you develop your understanding of the system and experience, it is
expected there will be opportunity to move to a hybrid role in the future.
We have a flat management structure, you will be working with pension professionals, actuaries and
other senior members of staff from day one. We all work together as one team and believe in training
our staff well so that they can take on responsibilities as early in their careers as possible.
Whilst experience of the system Mantle and working with defined benefit pension schemes would be
beneficial, full training will be provided. Key skills for the role are:
 Excellent IT skills – in particular use of excel
 Excellent verbal and written communication skills
 Ability to plan and organise own workload
 Quick learner, enthusiastic to take on a variety of roles with good attention to detail
Candidates should be educated up to A Level standard including grade B in a maths related subject
(e.g. maths, economics, physics), working with defined benefit pension schemes or previous experience
of Mantle is beneficial but not essential.
